Is there a lot of performance difference between gtx460 and gts 450? plz help?

im restricted to these options due to budget limitation i can only afford gts450 am i missing much if i dont upgrade to gtx460?

cheers!!|||Assuming you want to use that for gaming, then yes, there's a big difference between the two. The GTS 450 is an entry-level card where the GTX 460 is the mainstream card. You can compare the performance of specific make/models the two at Tom's Hardware. I picked a couple 460s and 450s from the list and looked. It appears that the 450 typically runs games at frame rates about 1/2 to 3/5 the speed of the 460.



The price difference between these two appears to be warranted. You get about 60-100% increase in speed for about 60% more. This is based on what I see as Newegg prices between the two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…



Several of the GTX 460s there have good rebates because the they are being phased out to be replaced with the GTX 560. You might be able to swing one of those after rebate for something much closer to the price of GTS 450.
