Can you SLi a GTX260 with a GTX460?

I am planning to upg my pc and i saw that a GTX460 costs less than a GTX260, so i wonder if u can SLi the 2?

if so what's the performace increase?|||For SLI to work smoothly, similar card need to be installed on the motherboard. In your case, you would need to install two GTX 460's. The manufacturer may be different like XFX GTX 460 + Sapphire GTX 460 but the chip type (GTX 460) has to be same.



If you install a GTX 260 with a GTX 460 it may work but the GTX 460 will be toned down to GTX 260's speed. Secondly, GTX 460 is DX11 and GTX 260 is DX10. You might see conflicts out there making the system unstable.



I would go with a single GTX 460 is its a very good card. If I had the money to buy two GTX 460 I would still be better of by buying a GTX 480 instead. The performance of two GTX 460 would still be less than a single GTX 480.|||No
