Can a gtx460 1gb run games on 1080p maxed out or i need a better one?

here's my rig

core2quad q8300 2.5ghz

2gb ddr2 800

320gb WD + 500gb seagate (external)

benq E2220HD 21.5" 1080p



i want to maxed out all new games so tell me?|||Yes and no.



yes you can play all the modern games on max setting with the card



will you want to play them on full settings? No, because the frame rate will be real low.

yes,with your system specs which are pretty good you should have no problems running games with the GTX460 ... however as one of the other answers stated it also depends on the games your playing... for example "crysis" and "metro 2033" are two of the most demanding pc games you can get and even with a powerful cpu and a GTX460 you may not be able to run these games maxed out

your 2gb memory is another limiting factor.... when running games at higher resolutions your best to have 4gb of memory.... and allthough 2gb should be ok you may find some of the more recent games have a 3gb recommended requirement.....

but you should be fine.....

It will run most games at high settings, not max, and not without slowdowns. even card like the 6990 or 590 can't run all games on max (current top end dual-gpu cards by ati and nvidia msrp ~$700), the 460 is a good card and priced well for performance.|||I would suggest to buy XFX Radeon HD 6870 1 GB DDR5 Graphics Card
