Gtx460 vs gtx 470.. what do you think is the best?

Hi, i was planing to get the gts460 for my new machine but they only have the 768Mb version. so i decided on going to the 470. Currently they don't have it in stores, how much will it be. and also, will i be able to see a major difference in GFX performance?

A close tie between these 4. I'd go with the GIGABYTE one or the EVGA FTW one





So, if you have the money and are willing to spend $100 more for the GTX 470 then go ahead. It's better. But if you don't pick the GTX 460 because it's still a freakin good choice. Any more questions? Glad to help.

Palit gtx460 or evga gtx 460¿?

I thnk evga is better but I dnt hve to much spce left in my cabinet

a very good alternative for GTX 460 is Radeon HD 6850.it is slightly faster than GTX 460 at stock and require less power.it is in the same price range of GTX 460.you can consider MSI Radeon HD 6850 PE/OC for Rs.9500-9800 over GTX 460.

Until when nvidia GTX460 are relevance?

I try to survey this stuff.|||If you mean to ask if the GTX 460 is a modern, fast graphics chip that will still be relevant and capable of playing games for a while, the answer is yes. That chip is currently in the upper mid level of nVidia's graphics processors. It's not the fastest they offer, but is a very good value in terms of performance per dollar (or whatever currency). It will be able to play new games for quite some time.

HD 4870 has similar performance as the HD 5770. They have the same number of stream processors. Here's a benchmark that shows when the HD 5770 is Crossfired, it can even be ahead of the GTX 470.

With the latest ATI driver, expect HD 4870 X2 performance to be at GTX 470 level.|||GTX460 all the way up! It has a performance like @ GTX 285 levels, yes, it isn't more powerful than the 4870x2, but is newer, cheaper, and has Directx 11 support , and the 4870 hasn't. BTW it requires less power to work, and runs cooler.

Is it possible in anyway for the GTX460 to do Tri Sli?

I just would like to know, if in anyway, is it possible for the GTX460 to do tri sli. I know it only has one connector for the Sli bridge, so using a tri sli bridge is out of the question.



I have:

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 4ghz

Corsair Dominator 8GB DDR3 1333mhz

2x Palit GTX 460's Sonic Platinum

Corsair Hydro H70

Asus Sabertooth 990fx



I have a few ideas on how it could work;

1) Have the first card in a x16 slot, then the second one in an x16 slot with the sli bridge connected to a third card at x8. The monitor would be plugged in to the first card



2) Just have all cards in these slots, x16, x16, x8



3) Maybe have both the x16 cards connected with the bridge, then just have the third card in an x8 slot.



It it possible at all?

Should U get a Gtx460 or x2 HD5770?

So I am planning on getting a new computer. So now im wondering. "Should I get a Gtx460 or x2sapphire 5770"



The Gtx460 is 1 gb and costs 200€ and the 2 Sapphires cost 240€



And I dont know about the Sapphire since some people use to get problems with them.|||Dual HD 5770 performance is more comparable to the HD 5870 and would even beat the GTX 470.
